Description

Sebastopol Cherry is a rare heirloom from Sebastopol, California. Its story centres on a local woman who grew the tomatoes and kept their seed for around 70 years.

The red, round fruit are about 2 cm across and usually weigh 15–25 g. Sweetness is accompanied by a distinct, refreshing tang, making them lively-tasting tomatoes for salads and eating straight from the plant.

The variety stands out for its performance in cooler coastal areas, foggy summers and shorter growing seasons. It is an interesting choice for gardens without a long stretch of summer heat.

Strong, indeterminate plants with regular leaves need support. Maturity is roughly 70–75 days after transplanting, depending on conditions. An open-pollinated, non-hybrid variety with a long seed-saving history.
